ThreadTamer is a browser extension that improves and diagnoses the client-side rendering performance of long AI conversations. This policy explains how the extension handles information.
When Long Chat Mode is enabled by the user, ThreadTamer transiently processes the supported site's conversation response on the user's device. It retains only the user-selected number of recent messages in the response provided to the page renderer. This processing may involve personal communications or user-generated content contained in the conversation.
When the user starts a diagnostic session, ThreadTamer measures performance information such as main-thread task duration, DOM node counts, JavaScript heap estimates, layout shifts, resource timing, browser details, and sanitized resource origins and truncated paths.
Conversation content is not stored by ThreadTamer. Diagnostic measurements remain in volatile page memory and disappear when the page is reloaded unless the user explicitly selects Export. Export creates a JSON file on the user's own device. The extension stores only the Long Chat Mode setting and the selected recent-message count in the supported site's local browser storage.
ThreadTamer does not transmit conversation content, diagnostic information, settings, or identifiers to the developer or any third party. The extension has no developer-operated server, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking.
ThreadTamer does not access or store cookies, authentication headers, passwords, payment information, request bodies, or form input. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to improving and diagnosing conversation rendering performance.
Site access is limited to chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com so the extension can perform its disclosed functionality. The downloads permission is used only when the user explicitly exports a diagnostic JSON report.
Long Chat Mode is disabled by default. Users can disable it at any time from the extension popup and reload the page to restore the complete server-hosted conversation. Users may remove all extension settings by uninstalling the extension and clearing the supported site's local storage.
ThreadTamer is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes to data practices will be disclosed before the changed processing begins.
